Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor / Commercial ManagerLocation: Leeds or Newcastle (with responsibility for the North of England)Salary: c.100,000 + comprehensive benefits (DOE)The OpportunityA large and highly regarded M&E contractor is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function of its North of England division. This is a key strategic role, offering full commercial ownership of a growing regional business with an expected turnover of c.24m this year.You will work closely with the regional and senior leadership teams, playing a pivotal role in shaping commercial strategy, driving profitability, and supporting sustainable growth across the division.The Business & ProjectsThe company delivers technically complex mechanical and electrical building services projects across a broad range of sectors, including:Healthcare and life sciencesEducation (schools, colleges, and universities)Commercial offices and mixed-use developmentsIndustrial and manufacturing facilitiesEnergy, renewables, and decarbonisation projectsProjects typically range from mid to large-scale, with a strong pipeline of secured and repeat-client work across the North.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the commercial function for the North of England divisionTake full responsibility for cost control, forecasting, reporting, and commercial performanceOversee procurement strategies, subcontractor management, and contract administrationManage and mentor a team of M&E Quantity Surveyors and commercial staffProvide strategic commercial input at pre-construction and bid stageEnsure robust risk management, change control, and value recoveryWork closely with operational teams to drive margin improvement and best practiceMaintain strong client relationships and support repeat businessAbout YouProven experience as a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within an M&E contracting environmentStrong working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, NEC)Track record of leading commercial teams and managing sizeable project portfoliosCommercially astute, with the ability to influence at both project and board levelConfident operating in a senior, autonomous role with regional responsibilityWhat’s on OfferSalary circa 100,000, dependent on experienceAttractive benefits package (car allowance, bonus, pension, etc.)A genuine leadership role with influence over regional strategyLong-term career progression within a financially stable, growing business Salary: c100K DOE Location: Leeds or Newcastle base Type: permanentSUBMIT CV
