Mobile Diesel Mechanic II - Day Shift - $3,000 New Hire Bonus

We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road‑test vehicles to ensure proper operation. Identify problems and generate evaluation alternatives using sound judgment. Manage parts inventory and company‑issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections. Work effectively with clients and customers to assess needs and resolve issues. Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work and upload pictures of parts and findings on Repair Orders using the company iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work independently and manage daily schedule. Maintain productivity and meet most Standard Repair Times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support team for repair estimates and purchase orders. Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Maintain company‑issued service truck and conduct daily inspections. Requirements High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field. Possess a set of hand tools necessary for job duties. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months. Pass DOT‑regulated background screening, DOT physical, or provide a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months validity. Be at least 21 years old. Hold a valid state driver’s license and be able to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Certifications and Preferred Certifications ASE T8 (PMI) – required. ASE T3 (Drivetrain) – preferred. ASE T4 (Brakes) – preferred. ASE T5 (Suspension) – preferred. ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) – preferred. ASE T7 (HVAC) – preferred. ASE 608/609 – preferred. Skills & Abilities Apply new information for decision‑making. Lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor. Exert physically without tiring and perform repetitive tasks. Communicate facts and ideas succinctly and effectively in two‑way communication. Determine the type of tools and equipment needed. Judge distances accurately. Use logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions.
