VINA is the second concept from our growing business, alongside Kirshenbaum Baking Co. VINA brings authentic, traditional Vietnamese street food to life in a fresh way. It is true Vietnamese cuisine like you've never seen before. We operate as a quick service restaurant but hold ourselves to the standards of a high-end dining experience. Every dish, every plate, and every guest interaction matters just as much here as it would in a full-service restaurant. We're a startup at heart, and we're looking for the right people to help us build something special from the ground up and grow with us as part of our family.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our opening team. This is a hands-on kitchen role for someone who takes real pride in their craft and wants to help shape the culture of a brand-new concept from day one.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a professional kitchen as a lead or supervisor role.
- A genuine passion for cooking and food quality
- Detail-oriented, with consistent, careful execution on every plate
- A positive attitude and energetic spirit that lifts the whole kitchen
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality
- A team player excited to help open a new concept and grow with a family business
- Responsible for overseeing daily operations including prep, service, inventory and scheduling
- Work closely with Executive Chef to create and execute menu items
- Prepare ingredients and execute recipes to VINA's quality and consistency standards
- Work the line during service, maintaining speed and accuracy during peak periods
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with the kitchen and FOH management team to keep standards high as we grow
- Train, mentor and manage team members
