Open-Rank Tenure-Track/Tenured Faculty Positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Miami (Coral Gables, FL) invites nominations and applications for three open-rank, tenure-track faculty positions as part of a bold growth trajectory that will significantly expand the department’s impact and visibility. This search represents the first phase of a multi-phase hiring plan to be executed over the next three to four years. While applications are welcome at all ranks, the department is particularly interested in early and mid-career faculty who are ready to accelerate UM ECE’s growth with established research programs. We seek exceptional scholars in the following strategic thrust areas: AI-Powered Microchips and Systems (AI-powered microchips, AI-powered medical systems, edge intelligence, trustworthy and explainable AI) Robotics and Autonomous Systems (medical and surgical robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, human–machine collaboration, assistive systems) Quantum and Nano Technologies (quantum communication, computing, sensing, nanoelectronics, emerging devices, energy-efficient systems) Cybersecurity and Cyber Physical Systems (hardware, software, and network security; AI for secure and resilient systems; privacy; secure sensing and control in critical infrastructures) Candidates with a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply. Required Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or an engineering related field.
