Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Associate I

Location: Clark, NJ 07066
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension and Full-Time Conversion)
Schedule: Full-Time | Standard Shift
Pay Rate: $26.47/hr
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite during training (approximately 2 months); potential for hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/2 days remote) after training, subject to business needs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate I to support regulatory compliance activities related to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), hazard communication, and product labeling. This role will ensure compliance with North American and European regulatory requirements while working closely with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in compliance with North American (HazCom 2024, WHMIS 2022) and European (CLP) regulations.
• Assess and classify formulations for hazard communication using SAP Product Compliance.
• Author SDS in multiple regional formats and languages as required.
• Review raw material toxicology and ecotoxicology data to determine appropriate hazard classifications.
• Enter hazard communication information into SAP systems to support compliant product labeling.
• Conduct transportation hazard reviews and ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
• Maintain and update internal hazard communication databases.
• Perform periodic audits to ensure the accuracy and quality of hazard communication and transportation data.
• Review and update SDS documents from contract manufacturers and third-party suppliers.
• Provide internal guidance on hazard assessments, transportation classifications, and waste management requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of domestic and international chemical inventories for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain DOT, IATA, and IMDG transportation certifications.
• Assist in developing and updating SDS-related procedures and documentation.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, or another science-related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
• Experience with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring and regulatory compliance is preferred.
• Experience with SAP Product Compliance/EHS and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Knowledge of hazard communication regulations, including HazCom, WHMIS, and CLP, is a plus.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• French language proficiency is a plus.
