About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Research Computing to lead and support its growing research enterprise. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong background in research computing, capable of partnering with the academic community to understand and address their evolving computational needs. This role is pivotal in developing sustainable solutions that harness on-campus infrastructure, cloud technologies, and advanced computing resources. The AVP will also be responsible for securing funding, engaging faculty, and enhancing the institution's ability to attract and retain research-active scholars. Strategic leadership in the development of service models, facilities, and capabilities is essential, as is the ability to foster partnerships with industry leaders in emerging technologies. Applicants for the AVP position should have a proven track record of collaboration and faculty partnerships, as well as the ability to be an effective and persuasive leader. The role requires a visible leader who can communicate effectively and shape a compelling vision for research computing. The ideal candidate will be a strong strategic partner with research faculty, ensuring that research computing services are innovative, responsive, and aligned with the institution's strategic objectives. Operational responsibilities include oversight of the Center for Research Computing, efficient operations, and strong alignment with partner organizations. The AVP will also be instrumental in broadening access to advanced computing capabilities and reducing barriers to their use, in line with the institution's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
