Accounting Support Specialist

Overview Ohio University is hiring an Accounting Support Specialist to maintain accurate financial records and support various accounting functions. The role involves guiding customers through complex financial inquiries, supervising student employees, processing financial aid and loan information, managing account transactions, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Highlights Guide and assist customers with complex financial and business inquiries including billing, financial aid, and student receivables. Direct, train, and supervise student employees as needed. Ensure timely processing of requisitions and proper documentation for contracts. Provide detailed financial support to university departments and handle financial aid application processing and adjustments. Post and remove charges, place holds on delinquent accounts, prepare invoices, and review the work of other employees. Compile, analyze, and reconcile loan and grant program accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Record and monitor expenses and revenue for assigned areas. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of standard finance practices are preferred. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience; an associate's degree or customer service experience is preferred. Starting pay ranges from $14.65 to $18.68 per hour, with a full benefits package including medical, dental, retirement, tuition waivers, and more.
