Chief of Staff

This is the seat with the widest view of the company — and it sits next to the CEO. Most people three years into their career are optimizing a slide or owning a workstream inside someone else’s project. In this role, you will report directly to the CEO of a private equity-backed software company that is actively rebuilding itself, and you will do real work in every part of it. You will work directly with the CEO, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. Not in a readout. In the room, on the problem, with your name on the output. You will see four things most people never get near this early: How a technology company transforms itself into an AI-first operating model. Monetate is not adding AI features to a legacy motion. We are rebuilding how the company itself operates — how we deliver to customers, how we sell, how we staff, and how decisions get made. How M&A actually works. You will support target research, commercial diligence, integration workstreams, and the thesis behind what we buy and why. How private equity evaluates and operates a business — from inside the room. You will work closely with our private equity managing partners: how they underwrite a business, what they look for in diligence, how they set value creation plans, and how they engage portfolio company management. How enterprise software is really sold and delivered. You will own our demo environments and become one of the most product-fluent people in the company. This role is built for someone who wants to compress a decade of exposure into a few years and leave with a track record — not a title. ABOUT THE ROLE Monetate is a leading personalization and experimentation platform trusted by some of the world’s most recognizable brands. With our acquisitions of SiteSpect and Simon AI, we have combined digital personalization, experimentation, secure content delivery, agentic AI governance, and a warehouse-native customer data platform into a single enterprise offering. We are looking for a sharp, business-minded operator to sit alongside the CEO and at the center of our customer and revenue organization. This is a hybrid role: part chief of staff, part strategic analyst, part demo and RFP owner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Chief of Staff to the C-Suite Act as a direct extension of the CEO and the CRO, and on assigned initiatives, the broader executive team Track executive priorities, follow up on commitments, and keep cross-functional work on schedule Prepare materials and analysis for executive staff meetings, board reporting, and private equity sponsor updates Own or support special projects that do not yet have a home — the work that matters and has no obvious owner Sit close to the AI Engineering team and help translate what is being built into what the business can sell and operate The premise of this work is simple: we should understand our customers’ businesses better than they expect us to, and better than our competitors do. Our Technical Customer Success Managers and Account Executives should never have to lead with features. You give them the business context, frameworks, methodologies, support and enablement that lets them lead with the problem. Research current customers’ and prospects’ business models — how they make money, their margin drivers, their growth constraints, and their stated strategic priorities Read the primary sources: earnings calls, investor decks, 10-Ks, analyst coverage, executive interviews, and press Map the competitive landscape for each account — who they compete against, where they are losing, and what a win looks like on their scorecard Map each account’s technology stack and where Monetate creates leverage across Symphony, Maestro, Forte, Glasshouse, MONET AI, and Simon AI Build account business-value briefs that connect a customer’s real, named problem to a specific Monetate capability and a quantified outcome Arm TCSMs for QBRs and annual business reviews, and arm AEs for discovery, demos, and executive conversations Build the value narrative for the combined Monetate, SiteSpect, and Simon AI platform, and sharpen our positioning against CDP, personalization, and experimentation competitors Build customer and business prospect business intelligence analytical frameworks, approaches and methodology - ensuring sales and post-sales teams are enabled for delivery This is a first-class responsibility, not a support function. You own the demo. Own the accuracy, relevance, and readiness of all demo environments across the full product portfolio — Symphony, Maestro, Forte, Glasshouse, MONET AI, and Simon AI Build and maintain industry-specific and use-case-specific demo scenarios for the verticals we actively sell into: enterprise retail, financial services, and consumer brands Ensure every demo is framed around business value and measurable outcomes, not feature walkthroughs Keep demo data, configurations, and use cases current as the platform evolves Partner directly with our AI engineers and Product team to bring new capabilities into demo quickly after release Support live demos alongside AEs and TCSMs, and build the reusable assets that let them run their own Define what a strong Monetate RFP response looks like: structure, proof points, and positioning Lead or support RFP responses for renewals, expansions, and net-new logo opportunities Own the answer library — keep it current, accurate, and grounded in real product capability Corporate Development & M&A Support target research, market mapping, and competitive analysis for potential acquisitions Contribute to commercial diligence: customer overlap, product fit, pricing, and revenue synergy analysis Support post-close integration workstreams across the customer and revenue organization HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED Coverage and quality of business-value briefs across the top accounts and priority prospect list Demo environment readiness, accuracy, and time-to-demo for new product capabilities RFP turnaround time, response quality, and win rate Answer library currency and reuse Closure rate on CEO and executive commitments and cross-functional initiatives you are tracking Direct feedback from the TCSMs and AEs you support — do they win more with you than without you WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We hire for who you are. All three matter WHAT YOU BRING Required 3–5 years of experience, ideally in management or strategy consulting, banking, corporate development, or a similarly analytical, client-facing environment Strong business acumen — comfortable picking apart how a company makes money and where the pressure points are Demonstrated ability to become technically fluent in a complex software product quickly, and genuine willingness to work hands-on in a platform Excellent written and verbal communication; able to turn research into a clear, persuasive narrative Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning multiple workstreams simultaneously Absolute discretion — you will be exposed to board, sponsor, transaction, and personnel information Fluency with AI tools as part of how you work, not as a novelty Preferred Exposure to enterprise SaaS, martech, personalization, experimentation, CDP, or analytics Experience supporting M&A diligence or integration Experience in or alongside a private equity-backed operating environment Genuine interest in revenue strategy and technology; candidates exploring a path toward private equity, growth investing, or corporate development are encouraged to apply WHY MONETATE Direct access to the CEO. LOCATION Plano, TX. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role.
