Title: Accountant II
Work Model: 100% onsite
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
Description:
We’re seeking an experienced Accountant II to join a growing finance organization in Waltham, MA. This contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliation, and revenue recognition experience who enjoys working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
Support day-to-day accounting activities across multiple legal entities.
Coordinate the monthly general ledger close , including journal entries, financial statement review, adjusting entries, and account reconciliations.
Support revenue recognition under ASC 606 , including complex, multiple-element arrangements.
Oversee accounting activities performed by an external consulting team.
Assist with NetSuite integration related to newly acquired businesses, including system and process changes.
Oversee A/R activities and support collections.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and revenue reports.
Perform monthly and quarterly SOX control testing .
Partner with Operations, FP&A, Tax, Corporate Consolidation, and other internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
Assist with royalty calculations and reporting.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Experience with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 .
Experience with revenue recognition in Software, SaaS, or Professional Services environments is highly preferred.
Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel .
Understanding of SOX controls in a public-company environment.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Prior Big 4 accounting experience .
Experience supporting acquisitions or integrating newly acquired businesses.
Experience working with globally distributed accounting teams.
