Industrial Maintenance Technician

VSSI Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Hempstead, TX. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operation of production equipment and facility systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. If you have strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, experience with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Diagnose issues involving 3-phase power, motors, controls, and PLC systems.
• Maintain valves, pumps, conveyors, compressors, and other industrial equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete maintenance work orders and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency.

Qualifications:

• Previous industrial maintenance experience required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• Familiarity with PLCs, motors, controls, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing and machine shop environment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
