Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firm’s financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firm’s strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firm’s financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost-saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firm’s financial stability and supports its growth objectives.Position SummaryThe Specialist, Treasury will be responsible for handling trust and escrow transactions, including global reporting on trust activity, compliance, reporting, reconciliations and maintenance of accounts across all relevant jurisdictions in which the firm operates. The role will also be responsible for processing and handling cash applications, including posting and analysis of incoming cash receipts, reporting and other related duties required to support treasury operations.The individual will be required to work across multiple jurisdictions and understand the rules governing trust transactions in the jurisdictions in which we operate globally. The successful candidate must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, be able to multi-task in a high-paced environment and be highly detail oriented.Duties and AccountabilitiesProcessing and handling of trust and escrow disbursements and receiptsMonitoring and posting of client receiptsPreparation of monthly trust reporting for managementAssist with audit requests (internal and external)Ad-hoc account analysis and reportingLiaising with the global finance teams, as appropriateMaintain and update training and process documentationMonitor and ensure transactions are compliance with global and statutory policy and protocolPreparation of variance analysis on the management accountsLiaising with the global finance teams, as appropriateOther reasonable duties as the business requiresQualificationsCommunicate with and respond to project requests in a timely, courteous and professional Bachelor’s degree5 – 10 years of law firm experience preferredAbility to multi-task and work-well in high paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPointExcellent communication skills – written and oralExceptional determination, self-motivation and interpersonal skills and resolveExperience of Elite 3E is advantageousThis role reports toDirector, Finance Operations & TransformationEqual OpportunitiesWhite & Case is committed to creating a fair workplace.
