The Position Facilities Technician I We are looking for a Facilities Technician I who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and values. The Technician will perform routine and minor preventative maintenance and repair procedures on the main campus and remote facilities, including painting, carpentry, minor electrical work, and general upkeep of buildings and grounds. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay: $21.00–$24.00 depending on experience. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Flexible Spending Account Paid Time Off Sick Time Paid Holidays 403(b) retirement plan with company match up to 3% Employee Assistance Program Tuition Reimbursement Employee Referral Bonus Credit Union Membership Training Opportunities to Further Personal and Professional Growth Qualifications High School diploma Minimum of one year working in a multi‑department environment Minimum of one year experience in construction or facilities maintenance field Trade school certificates or licenses in related field is a plus Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work Knowledge of proper lifting techniques Familiar with general maintenance equipment such as blowers and power tools Experience managing work orders in a CMMS environment and using email communication Must pass pre‑employment physical exam, TB test, and drug screening Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and exert 10–20 pounds of force repeatedly Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet Walking, kneeling, and crawling required at times Familiarity with power tools and industrial lifting equipment; operator’s license is a plus Computer proficiency for work orders and email Background checks: DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index Insurability under Corporate Automobile Insurance Key Responsibilities Perform minor repair work around the building, including changing light fixtures, repairing doors, and installing window blinds Perform rough carpentry work, painting, installing locks, repairing broken glass, repairing plaster, and providing minor plumbing and electrical repairs Move furniture and equipment upon instruction Conduct routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance of building exterior and interior Maintain roofs: removing debris and clearing drains Maintain HVAC systems: change filters and clean air grills Assist in construction, installation, and maintenance of furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, marker boards, tack boards, and other structures Maintain work order records, materials, and tools Install and repair electrical wiring and replace bulbs and fixtures Maintain outside landscaping and sprinkler systems Perform basic janitorial duties and maintain facility cleanliness as needed Complete accurate work order records and assist with inventory of department materials Provide rodent control abatement such as traps and bait as directed Diagnose basic mechanical and equipment failures and recommend repairs Remove graffiti from walls and windows Advise and assist the Facilities Manager on recommended repairs/replacements Assist with duties normally assigned to the Utility Worker 1 position when needed Perform other related duties as assigned Why Apply?
