Front-End Web Developer

Front-End Web DeveloperSchweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for a Front-End Web Developer to work with a highly collaborative team to develop our public-facing website. As a developer, you will play an integral role in the specification, design, build, test, and support of our website for SEL. We work on a variety of projects to support our customers as well as Sales and Marketing at SEL.A typical day might include the following:Participate in the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of website components and features.Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiativesRecommend and implement processes following industry best practices for designing, developing, testing, and deploying softwareCollaborate with team members, stakeholders, and systems experts to solve complex problemsCollaborate with designers to extend their designs to be dynamic; build and extend components in our custom design systemContribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and excellenceThis job might be for you if:You have a B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentYou have 3+ years of web development experienceYou have knowledge and experience in web supporting technologies and web development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)You can learn quickly and assume new responsibilitiesYou have excellent communication and collaboration skillsYou enjoy solving complex problems by providing simple solutionsPreferred Qualifications:Web development experience with some of the following technologies: React, TypeScript, Next.jsExperience with user experience (UX) design and wire framing tools (Figma)Experience with agile development principles and processesExperience with revision control systems (Git)Experience with automated testing (Jest, Playwright)General understanding of cybersecurity, user authentication and authorizationLocationPullman, WA - This position is located in Pullman, WA. Software Engineer, $97,700.00 - $144,400.00 per year. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
