About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience License: Required Certifications: BLS - AHA required Must-Have: 2 years of previous Medical Surgical experience Experience in a Level 1 trauma center EPIC experience Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment Description: This position involves working in a new medical/surgical unit. You will care for patients who are ready for discharge from the emergency room but have not yet been assigned to a specific unit. Responsibilities include performing initial admissions and providing care until patients are transferred to their new unit. The unit has 15 beds, all private rooms. Patient care will consist of individuals in general medical/surgical conditions. You will utilize EPIC for charting, as well as Zebra phones for communication and Omnicell for medications. Aleris IV pumps will also be used. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. You may be required to float to other medical/surgical units as needed. This role demands effective time management skills and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
