Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Templeton, California, in a short-term acute care, travel assignment. Start date 10/26/2026 for 13 weeks with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Shifts are rotating 12-hour blocks (initially day shift, transitioning to night shift). Weekly pay ranges from $2,645 to $2,841 per week. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. This role requires an active RN license in the state of practice and L&D specialization.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including management of emergency perinatal events and circulating for C-sections.
- Develop and implement patient-centered, multidisciplinary care plans in collaboration with the health care team; supervise/delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope of practice.
- Assess fetal and maternal well-being, monitor amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia).
- Manage pain control during labor and postpartum with appropriate alternatives and assist with epidural catheter placement; monitor patient status during and after catheter placement.
- Educate patients and families on perinatal and postpartum care, tailoring teaching to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness.
- Document nursing care clearly, accurately, and promptly; ensure documentation reflects patient response and outcomes; support the LDRP model of care.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California or must hold license in the practice state)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience; LDRP model experience preferred
- Additional: EPIC electronic health record experience; ability to work rotating day/night shifts; willingness to participate in a dynamic, high-acuity obstetric unit
