Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery is needed for a travel temporary assignment in Templeton, California. Unit specialty: Labor & Delivery within a short term acute care hospital setting. Start date: 11/02/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,684–$2,780 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 nights (onboarding may begin on day shift with a transition to nights). Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, assess amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and overall well-being; recognize and manage abnormalities.
- Circulate for cesarean deliveries and manage perinatal emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia.
- Manage and adjust pain control during labor; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor effects.
- Educate patients and families throughout perinatal and postpartum phases, using appropriate methods for age, culture, and learning readiness.
- Maintain complete, legible, timely documentation of nursing care and patient response; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement a goal-oriented care plan.
- Supervise and delegate nursing responsibilities to ancillary personnel within scope of practice; participate in a unit that supports the LDRP model.

Requirements
- Current, active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Additional certifications: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
- Electronic Medical Records: EPIC experience preferred
- Specialty requirements: LDRP model familiarity; ability to work in a high-acuity perinatal setting; no call duty per assignment terms
- Shift flexibility: able to work rotating day/night schedule as onboarding progresses
