Intake Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid after training)
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 + Benefits

Our client is seeking an experienced Intake Specialist to support the client and matter intake process for a busy legal environment. This role is responsible for conducting conflict checks, preparing engagement documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring new matters are opened efficiently and compliantly.
Responsibilities

Review and process new client and matter intake requests
Conduct conflict checks and prepare conflict reports
Draft and track engagement letters through execution
Maintain accurate client and matter records
Coordinate with attorneys and staff on intake requirements
Manage intake deadlines and prioritize urgent requests
Assist with conflict waivers, consent letters, and related documentation
Support process improvements and workflow efficiency initiatives

Qualifications

2+ years of legal intake, conflicts, legal administration, or related experience
Knowledge of client/matter intake and conflict resolution procedures
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with legal practice management or document management systems preferred
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
