This full-time position allows for remote work while focusing on the unique mental health needs of elderly clients. Work Environment\n

This position offers a flexible remote work setting while also requiring occasional in-person collaboration in our outpatient office. The anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of evening shifts based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments tailored to the complexities and unique needs of older adults.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating cognitive, physical, and social considerations.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and family therapy, to address the mental health conditions prevalent in the geriatric population.

• Engage in collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support for elderly patients facing acute mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and connect them with community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring high-quality documentation of care.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and collaborating on patient care strategies.

• Stay current with best practices, emerging treatments, and research in geriatric mental health to enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on elderly clients dealing with a variety of mental health conditions. This includes managing chronic issues such as depression and anxiety, addressing cognitive impairments associated with dementia, and providing support for adjustments following significant life changes. Your role will be essential in treating patients with compassion, understanding, and respect for their life experiences and individual circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated knowledge in geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities is crucial.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build trust and rapport with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and comfortable using various computer applications to enhance workflow.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, ideally within a geriatric setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
