This opportunity offers flexible shift coverage within an established clinical team at a community hospital with 24-hour emergency services, onsite diagnostic support, and access to specialty consultations. Candidates must have recent inpatient Emergency Department experience within the last 12 months.Job Type: Locum TenensSpecialty: Emergency MedicineProvider Type: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)Location: Nags Head, North CarolinaStart Date: As soon as credentialing is completeOrientation: New providers must attend orientation the day before their scheduled coverage.EMR: EpicCall: NoneCoverage ScheduleNight Shifts: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM December 25 December 31 January 4–March 31Day Shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM January 3 January 6–8 January 10 January 14–15 January 17 January 24 January 28–29 January 31Clinical ResponsibilitiesProvide inpatient and Emergency Department patient care.Evaluate and manage acute medical conditions within the provider's scope of practice.Respond to codes as required.Collaborate with the established physician and advanced practice provider team.Coordinate specialty consultations and patient transfers when clinically indicated.Practice EnvironmentEstablished team of 6 physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants.Average total inpatient census of approximately 20 patients.24-hour Emergency Department.Hospital resources include: 18 acute care medical-surgical beds. 2 labor and delivery/recovery beds. 1 Level II nursery bed. 3 operating rooms and a designated cesarean section room. Anesthesiology support. Onsite radiology services. 24-hour laboratory availability. Specialty consultation available for General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, and Telestroke.
