Assistant Controller

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the accounting and finance function of a growing organization. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to oversee financial reporting, month-end close activities, internal controls, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support the Controller in overseeing general ledger accounting activities and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as a key point of contact for auditors.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development support.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Oversee fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Partner with cross-functional departments to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and special finance projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing month-end close and audit processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
