Accounting Manager (Interim)

Location: Fresno, CA (Onsite) Pay: $104,000 – $124,000

This interim opportunity is available due to a maternity leave and offers the chance to step into a highly visible leadership role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced organization. You’ll work closely with executive leadership while leading an established accounting team and helping maintain smooth operations during a period of transition.

This is more than a traditional accounting management position. You’ll play a key role in project accounting, cash flow management, billing, and mentoring a team while helping the organization navigate continued growth and new system implementations.

The Opportunity

As the Interim Accounting Manager / Controller, you’ll oversee the daily accounting function, provide leadership to a team of accounting professionals, and partner with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and project performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting leader with strong construction or project accounting experience.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee project accounting, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Lead billing, collections, accounts payable, cash flow management, and daily accounting operations
• Supervise and mentor a team of up to five employees while fostering a positive, solutions-oriented culture
• Prepare account reconciliations, financial reports, and support month-end close activities
• Utilize Sage Intacct and quickly adapt to new accounting systems and automation tools, including Stampli and VersaPay

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong project accounting experience; construction accounting experience is highly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct
• Positive, adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and approaches challenges with a solutions-focused mindset
