Controller

Position Title: Controller Location: Atlanta, GA Reports To: Chief Financial Officer Employment Type: Full-Time Position Description: The Controller is responsible for accounting, tax, banking, A/R and A/P functions. This position manages multiple (7‑10) professionals and outside service providers. The individual reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Key Responsibilities Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including A/R, A/P and tax. Coordinating and preparing US GAAP accounting for two held subsidiaries and consolidating HoldCo business results. Conducting monthly financial statement variance reviews with key stakeholders. Coordinating activities of external auditors and tax service providers. Providing management with information vital to the decision‑making process. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for process and systems improvements. Owning controls over payables, receivables and cash management. Maintaining intercompany/cost‑center accounting and allocations. Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting systems, supporting migrations, updates and integrations. Maintaining A/R aging and working closely with General Counsel to resolve billing disputes. Monitoring bank account balances and investment activity to support operations. Overseeing tax compliance and reporting. Skills and Abilities Expert knowledge of US GAAP and CPA credential preferred. Prior experience managing A/P, A/R and tax functions highly desirable. Comfortable performing and prioritizing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day‑to‑day activities. Comfortable working in a highly demanding start‑up environment and taking pride in building processes and systems for an emerging, fast‑changing organization. Excellent interpersonal abilities: ability to get along with diverse personalities and stakeholders, including investors. Experience working with VC/PE sponsors preferred. Experience running an accounting close process end‑to‑end. Personal Attributes Team player with unquestioned integrity and business ethics.
