Description:
• St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center is seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open full time Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services. • The staff at FTC provide an array of mental health services to a population primarily comprised of adults 18 years and older who have been committed to the Department of Mental Health.
• With the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services will have responsibilities at both South and North Forensic Treatment Center Campuses supervising the Central Activity Therapy Program, Volunteer Services Program, Canteen Services Program, and the Client Work Program as well as co-supervising the Music/Recreational therapists in each FTC Treatment Program.
• This position works with several departments of FTC. Clear communication and interdisciplinary coordination are vital. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery-based environment.

Responsibility Review:
• Directly supervise of the South and North CAT Coordinators and Co-Supervise the Volunteer Services, Canteen, Client Work Program, and the Music/Recreational Therapists.
o Including hiring, training, disciplinary actions, inquires/allegations of misconduct/abuse/neglect
• Maintaining and ordering new equipment as needed
• Ensure consistent and smooth implementation of daily operational procedures
• Complete Quality Assurance Reports
• Participate in Policy Updates
• Connecting with community vendors and therapeutic workers so to bring additional and new opportunities into the facility
• Helping coordinate and lead large facility-wide CAT events

Eligibility:
• Required: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one or a combination of the following: Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Leisure Studies, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or another closely related field.
• Preferred: Advanced education or certification in one or a combination of the following: Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Leisure Studies, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or another closely related field.
• Two or more years of professional experience in mental health, education, social services, or a closely related area.
• Two or more years of professional supervisory experience.
