Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, rotating holiday coverage

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $63.00 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, expert care to 5 to 6 patients on a 30-bed Med-Surg Colorectal unit
• Titrate drips including amiodarone, heparin, insulin, and Cardizem with confidence
• Read and interpret your own EKG strips each shift using GE tele monitors with virtual monitoring
• Troubleshoot High Flow and BiPAP respiratory devices used for less than 24 hours
• Support patients recovering from colorectal surgeries and those managing conditions like ileus, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and pneumonia
• Collaborate with a charge nurse, LPNs, and patient care technicians to keep the unit running smoothly
• Chart accurately in EPIC to keep every detail of the patient story clear
• Float to other units when needed and bring your skills wherever they are needed most

Qualifications

• Active RN license with the ability to submit your license for this assignment
• At least 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
• Comfort with drip titration and close patient monitoring
• Willingness to work every other weekend and rotate holiday coverage
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required for your shift
• BSN not required, your experience is what matters most

Education

• Nurses on this unit are required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Experience in medical/surgical nursing is essential.
• Registered Nurses (RNs) are required to titrate drips, including amiodarone (Amio), heparin (Hep), insulin, and Cardizem

• Med-Surg nursing with a colorectal specialty focus
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG rhythm interpretation
• EPIC charting proficiency
• Drip titration for cardiac and glycemic medications
• High Flow and BiPAP device troubleshooting
• Patient assessment and clinical judgment in an acute care setting
• Teamwork with LPNs, PCTs, and charge nurses
• Adaptability when floating between units
