About the Role
The Company is in search of an experienced Associate General Counsel for the Americas region. The successful candidate will be a legal generalist with a strong foundation in real estate or infrastructure, particularly in the areas of land acquisition, financing, and construction. This role is pivotal in leading the land acquisition process and will also involve key responsibilities in legal strategy, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts across the renewable energy portfolio. The Associate General Counsel will be expected to handle complex legal workstreams, manage outside counsel, and provide strategic legal leadership to business and cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities for the Associate General Counsel include serving as a senior legal advisor on strategy, risk mitigation, and commercial decision-making, as well as driving improvements in legal processes and governance frameworks. The role demands a high level of visibility and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, global environment. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and an active license to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction, with 7-12 years of legal experience, including significant experience in real estate/infrastructure. Experience in renewable energy infrastructure, project finance, M&A, and project contracts is preferred. The role requires strong contract negotiation skills, experience in managing legal teams, and the ability to provide business-minded legal advice to support decision-making and risk management.
