• The Senior Business Analyst will work on multiple impactful projects that support the agency's mission of improving educational outcomes, with a primary focus on major system enhancements and rewrite efforts.
• In this role, you will perform advanced, senior-level business analysis, serving as the essential conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team. You will be involved throughout the entire software development life cycle, shifting focus from establishing the requirements baseline to managing the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements-including post-implementation enhancements.

• Elicitation & Analysis: Analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. Elicit requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
• Requirements Writing & Visual Output: Transform information from elicitation sessions into actionable business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirement specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups. Ensure all documentation utilizes standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
• Tool Utilization: Effectively use enterprise tools (such as Jira and Modern Requirements) to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and accurately track and communicate requirements status.
• Mentorship & Best Practices: Act as a mentor to peers and colleagues by disseminating business analysis best practices and proactively seeking out training opportunities.

• 8 years of experience eliciting requirements from customer interviews and creating well-written system requirements.
• 8 years of experience working with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices.
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
• 5 years of demonstrated strong communication, facilitation, writing, and organizational skills.

• 4 years of experience working for or closely with a federal, state, or local education agency, or an education vendor.
• 2 years of work experience with issue-tracking software (e.g., Atlassian Jira).
• 2 years of work experience with requirements management software (e.g., Modern Requirements).
