Substitute Custodian OpportunityPosition: Substitute Custodian OpportunityLocation: District BuildingsWork Schedule: 4 and 8 hours shifts between 2:00 pm – 10:30 pmReports To: Custodial Manager, Head Custodian, and Building PrincipalSalary: $17.66 per hourQualificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.Essential FunctionsDump trash and reline trash cans.Clean, dust mop, sweep, and mop kitchens, lunchrooms, classrooms, hallways, and stairwells.Clean and sanitize desktops as needed.Vacuum rugs and carpetsClean windows, door glass, and mirrors as needed.Clean and sanitize restrooms, fixtures, and keep restrooms supplied with towels, soap, and other items. Clean walls, stalls, and partitions as needed.Dust and clean walls, doors, windows, woodwork, and other above surfaces.Dust, clean, and polish furniture.Police outside areas immediately adjacent to building.Notify superior of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.Replace accessible light bulbsOther duties as assignedNon-Essential FunctionsMove furniture and equipment, as needed.Stripping and refinishing floors.Scrubbing floors with machines.Vacuuming furniture and drapes.Light fixture vacuuming and washing.Waste receptacle washing.Painting.Snow-shoveling – immediate entryway areas and sidewalks as needed.Carpet shampooing.ExpectationsReport to work on time.Clean, neat, professional appearance.Be reliable, dependable, and be on time to work.Show initiative, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.Ability to work well with others, interpersonal skills, and maintain positive attitude.Ability to work with minimum supervision.Mechanical aptitude to do minor repairs.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Physical ability to do manual labor and ladder use.Interpersonal skills.Generally good health.Other ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
