Capital Professionals is pleased to be assisting our 3PL Freight Brokerage client in their search for a staff accountant. This is an in-office position located in Dallas, TX. This is a salaried position with full benefits.

Core Responsibilities of the Position Include:

• Post daily bank transactions.
• Post daily A/R related cash receipts applications.
• Daily credit card coding, processing, and reconciliation.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly bank reporting.
• Process weekly check runs.
• Month end entries.
• Balance sheet accounts reconciliations and posting of related entries.
• Proactively researches and resolves issues with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
• Assist with preparing after month end management reports.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Must have a good understanding of GAAP.
• Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
• Fast learner and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• (V-lookups, Pivot tables).
• Work collaboratively with team members and vendor contacts to follow up on vendor billing details and discrepancies completes other projects/responsibilities as assigned.
• Special projects as needed.

Professional Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 3 years minimum experience.
• Experience in the transportation/logistics (trucking) industry.
• Billing and collection experience is a huge plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel and Word) with an emphasis on excel (knows v-lookups/Pivot tables).
• Working knowledge of McCleod Software– preferred.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette.
• Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a team environment and with confidential data.
• Possess a sense of urgency, flexibility, and assertiveness.
• Ability to multi-task, plan/prioritize and execute in a timely manner.
