Adjunct Instructor- Medical and Health Services Management - All Subjects

Job Description Summary Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. The Adjunct Faculty in Healthcare Management will deliver high‑quality, engaging instruction in healthcare management courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students. The instructor will develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and foster a collaborative educational environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking. Key Responsibilities Preparing course materials, conducting lectures and discussions, evaluating student performance, providing mentorship and guidance to students, and maintaining an effective learning environment in both traditional and non‑traditional modes. Required Education All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards, normally including an earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in that discipline. Required Experience Strong background related to the selected course(s). Professional/teaching experience in healthcare management. Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education strongly preferred. Courses to be taught online. Preferred Education Terminal degree in Healthcare Management or related field. Preferred Experience Experience in teaching and managing courses in healthcare management, including leadership, health information systems, and health policy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in the approved discipline; provide instruction to facilitate acquisition of learning outcomes; mentor students in and outside the classroom; maintain familiarity with and adherence to College policies; provide timely feedback to students; assess student performance and submit final grades promptly; attend adjunct faculty meetings; assess courses on departmental and institutional levels; and complete required training. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; communicate effectively with students, personnel, peers, and public groups; treat all persons with respect and dignity; exercise the highest professional and ethical standards; observe College policies and procedures.
