Adjunct Instructor- Adult Echocardiography

Job Description Summary Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students both inside and outside of the classroom. Faculty members are expected to create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, which may be face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction. Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes, engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback to students, respond to student communications promptly, assess student performance including submission of final grades in a timely fashion, maintain ethical and professional behavior, be available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, complete required training, and perform other related duties as assigned. Required Education Associate degree and/or 2‑5 years work experience in the field of study; Bachelor’s degree and/or 6‑10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Master’s degree and/or 11‑15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study. Associate degree plus ARDMS or CCI registration in adult echocardiography are minimum requirements. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. Required Experience Three years full‑time clinical experience as an adult cardiac sonographer. Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Preferred Experience Previous adult echocardiography or diagnostic medical sonography related teaching experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; provide instruction that achieves specific goals and objectives; create a professional and effective learning environment; communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and the public; treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination; exercise the highest professional and ethical standards; and observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
