Loyal Source is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Women’s Health to serve at the 628th Medical Group, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. About the Role The Nurse Practitioner will support daily clinical operations for beneficiaries at the 628th Medical Group (MDG) Joint Base (JB) Charleston, providing a variety of health services during extended gaps caused by personnel separation and deployments. Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 24 months of clinical practice within the past 36 months. Must have comprehensive knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures for women’s health across the lifespan with emphasis on reproductive, gynecologic, and family‐centered health education, pathophysiology, pharmacology, dosage calculations, and documentation. Proficient in computer use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records. Must have experience with Nexplanon, IUDs, and be comfortable with HRT/menopause/perimenopause treatment. Work Duties May be granted clinical privileges to provide primary ambulatory care to both obstetrical and gynecological patients. Diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses, minor traumas, and behavioral/psychological problems related to women’s health. Teach, counsel, and advise patients, families, and communities about current health status, illness(es), and health promotion and disease prevention activities appropriate for age and condition. Perform well woman exams, comprehensive family planning counseling, infertility evaluations, and sexually transmitted infection care. Possess strong organization, problem‑solving, and communication skills to articulate medical requirements to patients, families, and staff. Perform initial obstetrical visits and routine prenatal and post‑partum care for low‑risk pregnancies. Perform therapeutic procedures as defined on the provider privileges list; prescribe and dispense medications appropriate for the privileged scope of care. May perform additional skills such as colposcopy, limited ultrasound, and contraceptive implant insertions/removals based on appropriate education and training. Act independently within demonstrated competency in the designated scope of practice; may work as sole provider with physician consultation available as required. Maintain ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE). Obtain and document a relevant health history, including comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic history. Perform and document complete, system, or symptom‑directed physical examinations on women, including benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, infertility, and menopause-related illnesses. Identify deviations from normal, formulate a diagnosis, collaborate, and/or refer as necessary. Order and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound, mammography, cervical cytology, microscopy, endometrial biopsies, colposcopy, and IUD insertion. Prescribe therapies, considering pregnancy, lactation status, sociocultural background, and financial resources. Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. Provide health promotion and disease prevention services to women across the life cycle, taking into account age, developmental status, disability, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, spirituality, and lifestyle issues. Complete orientation and competency verification programs per unit guidelines. Participate in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel. Assist with process improvement for teaching and education to benefit patient and family safety. Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities designed to enhance health services. Practice in a safe work environment, following infection control policies and patient safety initiatives. Schedule Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
