SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time SOUS CHEF position at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital (18951 North Memorial Drive, Humble, TX 77338). Applications are accepted online only. Job Summary Full‑time schedule, flexible. Days and hours may vary; weekends included. Assist the Executive Chef in menu preparation and cooking. Coordinate activities of cooks and food‑service associates. Assume responsibility for kitchen and food‑service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef. Compensation Pay Range: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards; ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders. Supervise hourly food‑service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews, and recommending disciplinary actions as appropriate. Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; clean workstations thoroughly before leaving the area; keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements. Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relay relevant information directly to supervisor. Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers. Keep up with peak production and service hours. Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies; track product production, consumption, and waste; inform supervisor when supplies or product are low. Perform other duties as assigned.
