Sr Business Analyst -PDO

The Senior Business Analyst- Provider Data Operations (PDO) is responsible for business process review, data analysis and reporting as it relates to activities which ensure operational effectiveness. Incumbents assist management by coordinating workflow and working directly with more junior analysts, analyzing data, creating and maintaining reporting, recommending and supporting decision making with the goal of departmental effectiveness and improvement. The Senior Business Analyst -PDO is responsible for providing guidance to other analysts in accordance with regulatory, compliance and corporate requirements and analyzing reports to direct the supervision of inventory and performance management as well as business process/Ad hoc reporting and data analysis as it relates to activities which ensure operational effectiveness. Incumbents assist management by participating in and directing analysts in creating, maintaining, and analyzing reports and data, identifying useful information, while recommending and supporting decision making. The Senior Business Analyst - PDO owns project goals by developing project plans, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, providing timely reporting, and resolving conflicts – including the documentation and prioritization of assignments.Duties and Responsibilities:Identify defects and improve departmental performance by supporting quality, operation efficiency, and production goalsCommunicate departmentally and interdepartmentally to recommend and request new concepts and/or modifications to existing workflow, system set up, tools and designsLearn and evaluate new information, both technical and procedural, and then disseminate verbally and in writing to the management team and end-users of varying skill levelsAnalyze and implement improvement opportunities for the department (automation, productivity, quality, deficiencies, etc.)Review technical specifications to ensure the business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documentsEnsure all work is completed in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and corporate requirementsTrend and compare analyses against departmental and corporate standardsDevelop and prepare effective reporting tools and statistical reports and provide ongoing maintenance for the departmentRecommend changes to address deficiencies and/or further improve and streamline performance based on analysis findingsResponsible for the overall success of applicable testing, including results verification before Management team approvalProvide resource planning and resolution of issues that impede the test effortWork with other departments (such as IT) in resolving important defects and ensuring the appropriate level of testingWork directly with appropriate members of the department and other Healthfirst business units to understand and execute project concepts, objectives, and approachAssess and prepare to address the operational impacts, workflow, and training issues of assigned projectsEnsure post implementation accuracy Additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited schoolWork experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent roleExperience with in-depth data querying and manipulation of data to assist with root-causing, trending and summarization of projects presented to various level audiencesExperience with MS Excel functions that include working with large data sets, creating standardized reports (across multiple spreadsheets), utilizing vLookups and advanced functions/formulas, creating, using and interpreting pivot tables, filtering and formattingExperience gathering and communicating complex analytical business requirements in a simple and easy to understand manner to other staffPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionDemonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and work with independence and initiative as well as strong problem-solving abilityExcellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently as well as leading in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to work within regulatory and compliance guidelinesWork experience with access to confidential information and other data typesExperience in creating and running complex queries using SAS, SQL or other programs (i.e. Visual Basic coding, etc.)Healthcare experience in an Agile work environmentCompliance & Regulatory Responsibilities: N/ALicense/Certification: N/AWE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
