Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: West Texas

Schedule: 13-week assignment (longer contracts available upon request); self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; variable shifts; no on-call required; 12-hour orientation provided

• Level IV NICU within a 181-bed Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:2–4; average daily census of 35 patients in a 43-bed unit
• Epic electronic medical records system
• Flexible self-scheduling model with ability to manage your own weekend coverage
• Opportunity to work with complex neonatal cases including prematurity, respiratory distress, surgical subspecialties (non-cardiac), HIE, and sepsis
• PRN floating to pediatric units, PICU, or pediatric ED as needed

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2–4
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and care of surgical neonates
• Must be available to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
