W2 Contract – 2 years with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Onsite role - Multiple manufacturing shifts; training/onboarding required

Summary of the Role:

 

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician – Production Services to join our client’s site in Oceanside, CA. This role will support the production of medicines in a highly automated and controlled manufacturing environment.

 

As a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician, you will follow specific production recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while operating production equipment. You will maintain records and complete all required steps to comply with regulatory requirements within a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment.

 

This position specifically supports the Production Services Area within Manufacturing. Technicians in this department perform the weighing and aliquoting of raw materials into intermediate bulk containers for use in the stainless steel facility. The team also supports single-use operations by kitting materials and preparing small-scale solutions.

 

Additional responsibilities include washing, autoclaving, and preparing small equipment parts and assemblies, as well as conducting environmental monitoring throughout the facility.

 

The manufacturing site operates 24/7, with work divided across multiple organizations. Technicians are expected to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures at all times.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Services & Manufacturing Operations

• Weigh and aliquot raw materials into intermediate bulk containers.
• Support single-use operations by kitting materials.
• Prepare small-scale solutions.
• Wash and autoclave small equipment parts and assemblies.
• Prepare small equipment parts and assemblies for manufacturing operations.
• Conduct environmental monitoring throughout the facility.
• Follow specific production recipes and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Interface with computer systems to successfully operate manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain required manufacturing records and documentation.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Perform work in accordance with cGMP requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain records and follow all necessary steps to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a strong quality mindset and attention to detail.
• Successfully complete all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP quality environment, including inspections and GMP requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
• Re-qualify annually on job-related training and certifications as required.

Main Qualifications: 

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and communication.
• Ability to work all required shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to interface with computer systems used to operate manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP quality environment.
• Ability to re-qualify annually on required job-related training and certifications.
• Ability to climb upwards of six flights of stairs per day to maneuver within the manufacturing facility.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and wear company-provided gowning, which may include plant uniforms, coveralls, gloves, and safety shoes.
• Must comply with cleanroom requirements prohibiting makeup, jewelry, and other personal items from entering the cleanroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Scientific or technical degree, such as Life Science or Engineering.
• Experience in a cleanroom environment.
• Familiarity with cGMP and ISO/FDA standards.
• Experience in a GMP working environment.
• Experience operating complex mechanical equipment used in washing, autoclaving, processing, and assembly of parts used in Upstream or Downstream processes.
• Experience with distributed control systems or other manufacturing automation.
• Experience with biologics manufacturing is preferred but not required.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, electronic, chemical, food, cosmetics, and/or other medical industries.
• Understanding of the theory, concepts, and regulations behind biopharma technology and processes.

Shift Details: 

Candidates must be able to work any of the following manufacturing shifts:

 

10-Hour Day Shift

6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Sunday – Wednesday, or

Wednesday – Saturday

 

10-Hour Swing Shift

12:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Sunday – Wednesday, or

Wednesday – Saturday

Training / Onboarding

• Onboarding practices vary by area and may include a multi-week schedule of:
• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• This may be followed by multiple weeks of on-the-job training on a Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday swing shift.
• Once onboarding and/or training is complete, the selected individual will transition to the assigned manufacturing shift.

Note: Shift availability will be determined by matching candidate strengths to shift needs and is subject to change based on business needs and production schedules.
