CFO – Japanese Bilingual Japanese electronics distribution company in Long Island, NY seeks a Japanese Bilingual experienced and hands‑on CFO to lead the company's financial operations. The position reports directly to the CEO and is a crucial business partner, responsible for leading all financial closing and reporting requirements while contributing to the overall financial strategy and value‑building of the business. Salary: $150,000–$200,000 plus full benefits package. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses for Executives, Board of Directors, and Shareholders. Financial Close: Direct and lead the financial close process in compliance with USGAAP and IFRS. External Audits: Lead the USGAAP external audited financial statement process at year‑end. Internal Controls: Oversee and monitor key controls related to the financial closing and reporting process to ensure they are effective and timely. Technical Accounting: Research new accounting pronouncements and analyze their impact on the company. Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze the company’s income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow. Treasury & Compliance: Manage daily cash management, credit control, sales & property taxes, payroll & benefits, banking relationships, and ensure all financial and tax compliance requirements are met. FP&A: Lead the budget, forecast, and planning processes; provide financial strategic planning and advisory support for new and ongoing business. Procurement: Perform cost analyses to facilitate effective purchasing decisions and oversee the entire procurement cycle. Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the accounting team, identifying resource requirements, training needs, and conducting performance evaluations. Qualifications 15–20 years of relevant experience. A professional accounting certification (CPA) is required. An MBA is a plus. Strong experience in external financial statement preparation is required. Working knowledge of USGAAP or IFRS and experience managing external audits is required. Proven experience researching, applying, and communicating accounting pronouncements.
