Job Summary:
- Provides quality nursing patient care under the supervision of medical providers and nursing leadership.
- Assess, plan, give and evaluate nursing care
- Assists the provider with patients, including the preparation of examination rooms, preparation of the patient for the visit, taking vital signs and explaining preparations to the patients
- Perform venipuncture, administer medications and immunizations as prescribed, assist with examinations and in-office procedures.
- Responsible for completion of telephone triage within the scope of practice, following up with patients as appropriate
- Primary contact for laboratory, procedural and clinical staffing within the practice providing patients with information and education about their conditions, results, treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices.
- Assist in development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, working with appropriate system personnel to assure clinical operations comply with all Joint Commission and NYS DOH requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
- Must maintain current BLS training and certification.
Education:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- BSN preferred
Experience:
- Three years of recent nursing experience required. In addition, the Registered Nurse is required to successfully complete the Thompson Health System orientation program during the introductory period
- Office/Clinic nursing experience, injection administration and phlebotomy skills preferred.
Position Pay Range: $34.00-45.00/hour
Starting Pay: Based on experience
