Production Supervisor, Packaging

Job Summary The Supervisor, Production Operations is responsible for all aspects of a specific shift within the Transdermal Manufacturing and Packaging facility, ensuring compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures and company policies. This role leads day‑to‑day performance, develops systems and metrics to evaluate area and individual productivity, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity. Responsibilities Provide results‑oriented leadership that aligns with the Operations Strategic Plan and Production Plan. Co‑ordinate, assign and supervise all production activities to meet the production schedule and agreed goals. Develop and use systems and metrics to monitor productivity and individual performance. Guid and execute safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead a team that fosters personal development, interaction and participation. Build and maintain positive relationships with key business partners across Engineering, Technical Services, Warehouse, Materials, QA, Formulations, Human Resources, etc. Ensure the department performs all work in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements; investigate and implement corrective actions for non‑conformances. Maintain a clean, organized production environment and secure the building after business hours. Write and revise batch records, SOPs, work instructions and investigation reports as needed. Evaluate direct reports’ performance, create developmental plans, and ensure timely training. Interview prospective candidates and support the hiring process for permanent employees. Select designated observers for controlled substance materials. Resolve employee issues within the department with HR and management involvement as required. Act as a specialized manufacturing resource for senior management on complex issue resolution. Recruit, train, develop and manage the performance of direct reports following the Performance Management Program. Promote a culture of innovation, evolution, and excellence within the team. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or closely allied life sciences discipline. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant pharmaceutical experience in a fast‑paced lean Manufacturing/Packaging environment, including 2 years in supervisory or lead positions. For candidates without a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience will be considered. A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience supervising non‑exempt production employees in a GMP environment is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to lead a team with clear goals, motivation, and support, fostering continuous improvement. Capacity to organize and distribute work to meet strict timelines. Experience in systematic problem solving and making clear, concise decisions. Ability to provide constructive feedback and performance management. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and exposure to JDE or other ERPs. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Experience in a Food, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
