Position Overview
The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of multiple projects from inception through completion. This individual will work closely with project teams to monitor budgets, track costs, prepare financial reporting, and ensure the accuracy of project-related accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability
• Prepare and maintain project financial reports
• Analyze project performance and identify budget variances
• Maintain accurate project accounting records and documentation
• Review project contracts and financial terms
• Track and report project expenditures
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close activities
• Prepare project forecasts and assist with budgeting processes
• Manage work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial objectives are achieved
• Assist with audit requests and compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within project-based environments
• Experience with project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• ERP system experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
