This includes using custodial supplies and modern cleaning equipment and may involve the moving and lifting of heavy furniture. Work is performed in accordance with a well-established routine and is subject to inspection to meet standards of cleanliness. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:General Cleaning: Perform basic cleaning of resident rooms, facility offices, and public spacesSurface Care: Clean, polish, and sanitize handrails, fixtures, floors, walls, and windowsWaste Handling: Safely collect and properly dispose of trash, recyclable materials, and infectious wasteSupply Stocking: Restock soap, paper products, cleaning chemicals, and related suppliesTeamwork Assistance: Help move furniture, clear and clean debris, and remove snowSafety Practices: Follow safety guidelines and product instructions, use protective equipment, and report hazardsInterested in learning more? Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Required Experience, Training & EligibilityQualificationsAdditional Requirement:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)Work experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospitalWork experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room settingWork experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areasWork experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance waysWork experience using and mixing chemicals or solventsWork experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floorsCustodial work experience in one of the following environments: activity or recreation room, bathroom, shower or bathing room, cafeteria or dining room, entranceway, lobby, common space, nursing station, patient or resident rooms, pharmacy, physical therapy roomsLegal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
