Staff Accountant I

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant (Hybrid) to join our growing team in Rochester, NY! We supply military and commercial industries worldwide with accurate timing technologies and equipment (Time Servers, Inertial Navigation System), as well as ultra‑precise timing and frequency distribution for applications requiring a high degree of reliability and accuracy across IP time distribution standards. In this way, we contribute to the performance of critical operations support. The Position: Opportunity to work in a wide variety of accounting functions with opportunity for growth. Maintain financial records in both our Rochester and Montreal sites in SAP. The Day to Day: Assist with the month end close process through the preparation of journal entries and prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations Design, implement, and test Internal Controls spanning a multitude of departments across the organization Manage company cash flow and perform weekly cash forecasts Prepare the monthly inter‑company reconciliation with international subsidiaries Monitor outstanding receivables and work closely with our sales Department to resolve outstanding balances Support the monthly financial data migration from our ERP system to our financial reporting repository Create and update methods, procedures, and tools necessary to improve policies as needed What you Bring to Safran: Strong working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard ERP Products Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a cross functional team Strong oral and written communication skills to deliver detailed information BS Degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus Minimum 3‑5 years’ relevant experience required At Safran Electronics & Defense, you’ll combine passion for your job with a quality work environment adapted to a good life balance.
