Shoreline's Financial Aid Office is looking to welcome a Program Specialist 2 whose knowledge, experience, and/or transferable skills are in alignment with the position needs and the College's mission. The Enrollment Services & Financial Aid Office (ESFA) provide timely, accurate, and friendly service to all students, visitors, and members of the campus community. We work to ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve their educational goals regardless of financial circumstances. Our goal is to serve others with an empathetic, responsive, and caring attitude. The Program Specialist 2 (PS2) is responsible for administering specialized financial aid programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. This position will provide customer service to students and families in person, on the phone and through email. Additionally, this position completes financial aid file review and aid determination for one or more federal/state/institutional financial aid programs. Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Independently and accurately review student financial aid applications to determine aid eligibility.
• Interpret, apply and stay current with financial aid regulations, policies and procedures.
• Use Federal and State financial aid systems and web sites such as National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination & Disbursement web site (COD), the Financial Aid Partner Portal (FPP) and Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) portal to perform daily tasks.
• Counsel students and families regarding financial aid and the application process including other sources of funding such as Workforce Education and scholarships.
• Provide effective customer service to current/potential students, the campus community, and the public with the goal of eliminating educational barriers to students.

The College provides services both online and in-person. This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs.
