Portfolio Manager

This position reports to Chief Lender
Basic Function: Responsible for assisting in the origination and underwriting of commercial loans, construction loans and owner-occupied commercial real estate applications and responsible for managing client relationships.Essential Duties
- Evaluate, underwrite and assist with closing commercial loans, construction loans and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans
- Analyze loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, agent banks, borrowers and Bank credit files
- Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for loan officers on new, renewal and existing loans
- Perform credit inquiries for the Bank as requested
- Establish, review and update new and existing credit files on a regular basis
- Provide technical advice and assistance to Lender as needed
- Work with Lender on proposals
- Prepare loan approval presentations and annual financial statement reviews
- Work with Loan Operations and/or attorneys to generate and review (for accuracy) documents and coordinate loan closings
- Management of client relationships
- Negotiate loan extensions and renewals
- Respond to client inquiries
- Request and review updated financial and operating information. Confirm or recommend loan grade changes based on analysis performed
- Covenant compliance testing
- Update loan files
- Assist in preparation of Watch Report, Board Reports and other reporting as needed
- Work with Loan Operations and Deposit Operations to resolve client issues
- Fund draw requests
- Work with Treasury Management to meet the clients' cash management needs
- Monitor and address past due loans and overdrawn deposit accounts
- Additional departmental duties
- Attend department meetings
- Attend Management Loan Committee and Director's Loan Committee meetings
- Attend Bank Officer meetings
- Review information on market trends in commercial lending
- Maintain knowledge of underwriting and Loan Policy guidelines
- Attend training as required
- Participation in CRA activities
- Participation in networking events
