Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pediatrics Rheumatology & Immunology

Position Summary The Cooper lab at WashU is seeking a post‑doctoral research fellow with a strong background in immunology and bioinformatics to work on projects related to understanding somatic variants in inborn errors of immunity. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Independently design and perform experiments related to identification of somatic variants leading to inborn errors of immunity, with oversight from the PI. Write manuscripts describing the findings of your scientific research. Accurate documentation and record‑keeping. Assist with writing grant applications for the laboratory, and submit training grant applications to support your work. Work collaboratively with all members of the laboratory. Meet with Dr. Cooper regularly to review progress and for career development. Working Conditions This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals. Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience. Required Qualifications Education: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree. Certifications / Professional Licenses: No specific certification or professional license is required for this position. Work Experience: No specific work experience is required for this position. Skills: Not applicable. Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in immunology and bioinformatics, including first‑author original publications. Expertise in analysis of genomic datasets. Strong writing skills as evidenced by past publications and/or grant awards. Experience in immunologic techniques (wet‑lab). Collaboration, data analysis, data interpretation, experimentation, laboratory operations, laboratory techniques, researching, results reporting, scientific writing.
