What To Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and deploy manufacturing equipment within our cutting-edge battery factories. Battery development is at the heart of our company and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles – battery architecture innovation, battery reliability, and battery cost. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
What You'll Do
Establish equipment requirements and develop design concepts Develop new manufacturing equipment for a high-volume production environmentDevelop specifications and manage RFQ process for new manufacturing equipmentLead and manage project scope from concept through production launchOversee detailed design of new manufacturing equipmentDevelop equipment validation plansCoordinate factory readiness and equipment installationFunction as lead Manufacturing Engineer or Project Manager on new automated manufacturing equipmentTransitioned products from low-volume prototypes to large-scale productionAbility and willingness to travel abroad up to 50%
What You'll Bring
3+ years of manufacturing engineering experienceMechanical design and layout development experience in CADUnderstanding of tolerancing and GD&TUnderstanding of manufacturing equipment safety systemsMultiple new equipment installations and product launchesLarge manufacturing line implementationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, similar degree, or equivalent experience
