Private Equity, Senior Investment Associate (Digital Infrastructure)

The Opportunity

An established global investment platform is seeking to appoint a Senior Investment Associate to its New York investment team, supporting the continued expansion of its digital infrastructure portfolio.

The business has a specialist focus on infrastructure assets and companies supporting the growth of the digital economy, with an investment approach combining traditional private equity with platform development, expansion capital and operational value creation.

With just under $15 billion in AUM and an established international presence, the platform offers the opportunity to invest across a diverse range of digital infrastructure businesses, supported by experienced investment and operational professionals.

The successful individual will join a collaborative investment team with significant responsibility across the transaction lifecycle, direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to play an active role in building and scaling portfolio businesses.

• Data centers and associated infrastructure
• Fiber networks and communications infrastructure
• Wireless networks and telecommunications assets
• Cloud infrastructure and technology-enabled services
• Related digital infrastructure businesses and investment opportunities

Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Associate will take a hands-on role in evaluating, executing and managing investments, with responsibilities including:

• Assessing potential acquisitions and investment opportunities, including commercial attractiveness, valuation, competitive positioning and prospective returns.
• Developing detailed financial models, transaction structures and investment scenarios to support underwriting and investment decisions.
• Managing key aspects of transaction execution, working with external advisers and internal stakeholders throughout diligence, financing and completion.
• Preparing investment recommendations and presenting findings to senior investment professionals.
• Supporting existing portfolio businesses with strategic initiatives, expansion opportunities and operational improvements.
• Coordinating junior investment professionals and contributing to the development of the wider team.

Candidate Requirements

The position is ideally suited to an individual with approximately 4+ years of relevant experience, gained within private equity, investment banking or another transaction-focused investment environment.

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis capabilities.
• Meaningful experience executing M&A or principal investment transactions.
• The ability to take ownership of complex workstreams and exercise sound commercial judgement.
• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with senior investment professionals and external counterparties.
• An entrepreneurial approach, intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in infrastructure investing.

Prior digital infrastructure experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Individuals with relevant backgrounds in broader infrastructure, telecommunications, technology, industrials or related investment sectors will also be considered.
