Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Locums - Davenport, IA Availability

Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Ongoing
Schedule: Full-time (20-22 shifts per month)
Clinic Days: Monday-Friday plus one weekend per month
Day Call: 1:3 (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
Night Call: 1:4 (5:00 PM-8:00 AM)
Weekend Call: 1:4

License & Certification Requirements

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner - Required
Active Iowa License - Required
No New Graduates - Required

Practice Details

Inpatient Behavioral Health and Hospital Consults
Adult and adolescent patient population (ages 8+)
Average of 10-15 patients per day
Average Daily Census: 18 patients
Three behavioral health units with 36 total beds
- 28 Adult Beds
- 8 Adolescent Beds
Work alongside one APP and a supervising Psychiatrist
Supervising Physician onsite throughout assignment
Day call includes ED admissions and psychiatric consults (approximately 2 consults per day)
Average inpatient length of stay: 3-5 days
Teaching opportunities with nursing, occupational therapy, and family medicine learners

Admission histories and psychiatric assessments
Physical examinations
Daily inpatient rounds
Order and interpret diagnostic studies
Medication management
Consultation with supervising psychiatrist
Care coordination
Referral management
Administrative responsibilities
Addiction education and management

Delirium, Dementia, and Cognitive Disorders
Life Cycle and Adjustment Disorders
