Analyst II Position

The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as an Analyst II on the Public Markets team. The Investments Branch manages the investment portfolio for the nation's second largest public pension fund; providing retirement, disability and survivor benefits to California's more than 949,000 K-12 teachers, plus community college educators and their families. The Investments Branch portfolio is broadly diversified into seven asset categories with assets totaling approximately $417.7 billion. Under the direction of the Portfolio Manager, the Analyst II works independently providing essential analytical support and project coordination to the Senior Investment Directors (SIDs) of Public and Private Markets. The role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of asset classes within the Investments Branch. The incumbent will perform complex, varied technical, analytical, and consultative duties with a high degree of independence, flexibility, and tact. The Senior Investment Support Analyst must possess and maintain a working knowledge of both Public and Private Market operations, initiatives, and priorities to provide effective support to the SIDs of Public and Private Markets.

Duties will be adjusted at the Analyst I level. Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025. This program reduces employees' monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits for the duration of the program. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the reduced amounts.
