Business Development Manager

Outrig Valet Storage | Full-Time | On-Site — Tucson, AZ

About the Role

Outrig Valet Storage is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to lead occupancy growth and revenue across our RV and boat valet storage facility in Tucson. We store, retrieve, and stage customers' RVs and boats so they can hit the road or the lake without the hassle of towing, hitching, or maneuvering a trailer themselves — and we need someone to grow that membership base and own our reputation across the region.

This is not a passive, order-taking role. We need someone who is proactive in the community, visible with local partners, and relentless in following up on opportunities. If you thrive on building real relationships, closing deals, and owning your market — this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

Build and Own a Referral Partner Network

• Develop trust-based relationships with RV dealers, boat dealers, marine and RV service centers, campgrounds, outfitters, and outdoor recreation retailers across the Tucson area

• Position Outrig as the go-to valet storage and retrieval partner for anyone heading to Lake Pleasant, Patagonia Lake, Roosevelt Lake, or on the road in their RV

• Maintain ongoing partner relationships with regular check-ins, mutual value, and accountability

Drive Inbound Sales and Lead Conversion

• Own all inbound inquiries — phone, web, and walk-in — and convert them to closed membership agreements

• Maintain strong live answer rate on inbound sales calls; availability beyond standard business hours is expected

• Conduct facility tours for prospective customers, walk them through the valet retrieval process, and close storage and membership agreements

• Maintain accurate lead tracking in CRM and report pipeline status and conversion rates weekly

Monitor Competitors and the Local Market

• Conduct regular audits of competitor pricing, promotions, and amenities across Tucson-area RV storage, boat storage, and valet-style services

• Track new facilities entering the market and monitor seasonal pricing shifts tied to snowbird season and lake/outdoor recreation patterns

• Submit a monthly competitive summary to the District Manager

Manage Retention and Reduce Churn

• Monitor occupancy trends and identify at-risk memberships before customers cancel or move to a competitor

• Proactively develop and execute churn-reduction strategies in collaboration with leadership

• Identify upsell opportunities (detailing, wash service, winterization/summer prep, premium retrieval windows) to deepen customer relationships and grow revenue per customer

Lead Community Events and Brand Presence

• Plan and execute customer appreciation events, seasonal gatherings, and on-site events

• Represent Outrig at RV shows, boat shows, fishing tournaments, outdoor expos, and Tucson-area chamber events

• Build relationships with community organizations that align with our customer base — snowbird associations, RV clubs, boating clubs, and outdoor recreation groups

Own Social Media and Digital Presence

• Maintain an active, professional Facebook presence — regular posts, event announcements, community engagement, and timely responses

• Capture and share content from events, facility highlights, retrieval demos, and seasonal updates

• Monitor and respond to reviews and community feedback across social platforms

What You Bring

• 3+ years in sales, business development, or account management — preferably in a relationship-driven industry

• Proven ability to build and work a referral network, not just manage accounts handed to you

• Comfortable on the phone and in the field — this is not a desk job

• CRM discipline — you actually log activity, not just promise you will

• Self-directed and accountable — you don't need to be chased for updates

• Valid driver's license in good standing (may be asked to move or coordinate movement of customer RVs/boats on-site)

Bonus Points

These aren't required, but we'll give them serious weight:

• Background in RV, marine, outdoor recreation, valet services, or self-storage industries

• Existing local relationships with Tucson-area dealers, service centers, or outdoor recreation businesses

• Familiarity with the seasonal rhythms of Tucson's snowbird and lake-recreation community

• Prior experience tracking competitive pricing or conducting market analysis
