Associate Director, Enterprise Architecture, Global Commercial & Medical IT

Biogen seeks an Associate Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead technology strategy for the Global Commercial & Medical organization. This senior role defines architecture standards, governs platform decisions, and guides teams through strategic initiatives including product launches, international expansion, and digital transformation while ensuring security, compliance, and business alignment.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern GCM enterprise architecture standards ensuring alignment with compliance, security, and business strategy
• Lead architecture decisions for strategic GCM initiatives including new product launches, international expansion, and acquisitions
• Develop multi-year architecture and business capability roadmaps aligned with business value streams and priorities
• Identify portfolio rationalization opportunities to reduce system overlap, improve integration quality, and lower total cost of ownership
• Mentor solution architects and delivery teams to drive consistency in design and adoption of architecture best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years progressively responsible IT experience, preferably global or enterprise-level roles
• 5+ years architecture leadership experience such as Enterprise Architect or equivalent
• Strong architecture experience in pharma/biotech with ownership of Commercial and Medical platforms (CRM, omnichannel, field operations, patient services, content management)
• Solid knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architecture, and data architecture fundamentals
• Proven ability to translate business priorities into target-state architecture, roadmaps, and solution designs
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across business and IT teams
